That will only get the starter to go. The DME is not enabled by the EWS. A special code is sent from the EWS to the DME after it authenticates the key. Since the EWS is having problems with your keys it's not going to send the code to the DME to enable it. The engine will turn over (via the starter), but, it won't run.

First, use a drill that's slightly wider than the hole in the rivet - this helps to centre the hole. I'd suggest: #35 or 7/64" or 3mm. Then repeat drilling using, say: #28 or 9/64" or 3.5mm. Shielding prevents the wire from hearing electrical interference given off from the alternator and a few other electrical components that contain motors. Pinch the hose that is on top of the leak detection pump and carefully work it upwards until it is disconnected. Step 3: Remove three 15 torx bit screws that are under the leak detection pump. Step 4: Slide the leak detection pump outwards. Once the leak detection pump is out remove the rubber boot and install it on the new LDP. Wire colors in those diagrams should be labeled with abbreviations you’ll be able to understand. But just in case you run across a diagram with the orig-inal wiring color codes, use the “Wire Colors” key at left to sort things out.
