In re: the RF 24-105 f4.0-7.1 STM, yes there is distortion and vignetting at 24mm. Vignetting is gone at 28mm. Both vignetting and distortion are corrected by the camera and can be adjusted further in either Lightroom or Canon DPP. Post processed, the images are fine. Here is one I shot with the RF 24-105 f4.0-7.1 STM @ 24mm at a local airport.

Compact, Lightweight and High-Quality RF Lens with a Versatile Zoom Range of 24-105 millimeter Optical Image Stabilization at up to 5 stops of shake correction Maximum Magnification of 0.4x and Minimum Focusing Distance of 0.66 feet in Auto Focus. The Canon RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM is the most affordable zoom lens for the R system, and one of the smallest and lightest full-frame zooms you can get for any camera. in this video I review the new Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM lens. This is a very versatile lens for the price and a fantastic beginner lens for the EOS R I disagree. I have both the EF 24-105 f4 and RF 24-240 that I use on an R6. I got the 24-240 as a hiking lens as I didn't want to always have to walk with a heavy bag and carry 2-3 lenses with me. Whilst I agree it is a very decent lens for the price the image quality is not at all comparable to the EF24-105 f4 At 24mm & 105mm @ f/4 you will have to live with a heavy light-falloff of 2.6EV (f-stops) and 2.1EV respectively. It's a bit less in the middle range at this aperture. Stopping down to f/5.6 helps a lot in the medium to upper focal length range. At 24mm you may wish to stop down to f/8 if needed.”.

CameraLab’s Gordon Laing posted his Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM review, and he is rather positive on this lens. From his conclusion: The Canon RF 24-105 f/4-7.1 STM is the budget kit zoom the EOS R system has been waiting for. Didn’t shoot for years then got an A7Rii about 7 years ago thinking I’d get back into the hobby. The 24-105 4 was the only Sony lens I got, the Alpha series didn’t impress me and it really collected dust til I sold it last year. Decided to try this hobby again with Canon since that’s how I initially fell in love with photography.
