It seems to vary (when hot) between 80 and 85C. This is a bit lower than I have experienced with my Td5 Land rover engine which is around 90-92C when I use a dedicated engine monitoring system. Jaguar X Type 2.2d: flashing glow plug warning light. This has started happening to my 2006 XType 2.2 diesel. When it happens the car lsoes power but can still be driven. I have had the fault code read which was "P0235 Turbo charger sensor a circuit malfunction".
As he said though you need plenty of fuel (two cans should be OK) and then make sure the fuel filter is full. the bleed is just to speed up getting air out. The leak was from the intercooler hose joint as you pointed out in the picture above. Apparently it was common in pre-facelifts and some facelifts.
